Winter Season: Don’t Spread the Flu

Winter Season: Don’t Spread the Flu

This winter season, don’t become “that guy.” What we mean is, don’t be the guy that starts the spread of the flu to other people. Every year, over 220,000 people are hospitalized just from getting the flu. Everyone is able to get the flu, even after receiving a flu shot. Take precautions if you start to see flu like symptoms. At work, make sure your boss knows how you are feeling and the possibility you might be showing flu like symptoms. Make sure you get to a doctor as soon as possible to get treated and become healthy. If you have big plans, don’t be afraid to cancel them if you are sick with the flu. It is better to use the flu as an appropriate excuse instead of getting all of your friends or coworkers sick. Many people believe that doing so this would be rude, but you must think about the positive benefits of not spreading the flu. Keep away from anyone who is coughing and not taking appropriate measures to keep themselves healthy, like not covering there nose or mouth when coughing.

Always cover your mouth when sneezing or coughing. Make sure all tissues used when blowing your nose are properly disposed of and put in the trash. Always wash your hands after coughing or if you need to come into contact with someone. Make sure not to spread any of the symptoms you have to anyone. If worse comes to worse, tell your employer that you have very serious symptoms and take the day off or work, or until you are better.

Remember to work safe and have a good day!
